I had a 5’ chain-link fence built when my old fence wore out. They come down into the yard but never go over the fence where my little dogs go out. That doesn’t mean they can’t go over it. Still, I go out with them after dark.
The worst part for us is, when they hang out close to the house, we have a terrible flea infestation in the yard. I have one dog that has a flea allergy. It’s a battle even into the cold months with her. If the Coyotes stay away from the house, no fleas.
Yeah, definitely, shooting coyotes takes care of the problem better than anything else. I’m in the semi-city world, with pockets of high density housing developments, and even a few apartments, trailer parks, etc., but also a few horse farms within 5 miles of my house. I have seen a coyote or two, but took no action.
