The Federal Government Is an Ever-Growing, Out-of-Control Monster

Unimaginably, a staggering 500 federal agencies currently operate with almost no oversight. They procure items that our nation cannot afford, launch studies that are marginal at best, and manipulate the government in ways that the Founding Fathers could not have foreseen.

These government agencies, headed by self-regarded elites, hire contractors in ever-burgeoning numbers. Since Biden took office, federal contracts that fall outside the regulations have made quantum leaps. Biden and company cannot issue them fast enough. Government Accountability Office (GAO) data shows that even before the useless expenditures to contain COVID-19, the Federal Government spent $665 billion on contracts, a $70 billion increase from the year before.

Reagan also had a “blue ribbon” budget-cutting commission. There have been lots of them over the years. They haven’t done much good lately.

Can’t cut jobs, programs, departments or agencies is the clowns in Congress don’t want them cut.

They clowns are the ones that control the money.

They need those government employee votes and donations.

The Green Party can end the hypocrisy.

Nominate Al Franken for President and Jill Stein for Vice President.

The bumper stickers will be perfect:

Franken/Stein.

Every single dept. in the government should be slashed by 50% in year one. After that, slash them 10% a year until they are back to being lean and functional.

You know Italy isn’t the Roman Empir anymore, but the chicks, cars, opera, art, bikes and wine are sexy as hell. Maybe in the future American Flying cars, bourbon, rock n roll, pants around the ass, and movies will still be a factor in the culture.

That is the exact truth. And, they run things like THEY want to. I have posted several times on here that Federal Agencies are running the country. So many did NOT understand.

There's no way any Republican president will ever get these agencies to comply with a conservative agenda

So many parts here. First, I doubt there will ever be a Republican president again. Second, if there is, it'll be a "Republican" in the vein of Liz Cheney. (please folks, I will write in Trump if I have to, but I'm a realist). Third, the conservative agenda is being reduced to regional areas that don't have enough "value" for the Left - as power hungry as they are - to worry about.

Fundamentally, we’re all just waiting for The Gods of the Copybook Headings to return.

True. One of my favorites of Kiplings. Also like "The Sons of Martha"

I tell anyone harping on term limits for elected officials the the bigger problem is the permanent bureaucracy.

“A republic, if you can keep it.” Didn’t Benjamin say something like this?
