He’s by no means my first choice, but we can’t keeping waiting two extra years to figure out the coach sucks while the best coaches are getting picked up quickly. I’d take either coordinator from Alabama!

First thing that needs to happen is Spurrier needs to be the AD. Not necessarily run it on a day-to-day basis, he can delegate a lot of that work. But he needs to be the face of the program again. He gave us the identity.

Yep.
The thing is coaching at a school like UF isn’t like coaching other schools, it takes a coach with very thick skin and some swagger. Billy’s a nice guy and all, but I just don’t see the fit there.

“And is Oklahoma State the strangest team, ever. They go and beat teams like OU, Kansas and Kansas State, but are outscored by South Alabama and Central Florida by a combined 78-10! Whuuuut?!?!?!?!”
As an alum of OKST, I have gone through the good, the bad, and the ugly with yesterday’s old-fashioned country butt-whipping being nearly the worst of the Ugly category. I do say Malzahn’s stock took a large leap yesterday.

I agree. People who aren’t familiar with the Gators don’t understand it. We can’t have just anybody. Thick skin is exactly right. Swagger is right. Integrity is in there, too, somewhere. The combo is very hard to find. Jimbo Fisher all wrong for the job. All wrong.

Perfect scenario. Spurrier as AD, hires Bobby Stoops for head coach.
Stoops just coached his team to the XFL Championship. If he still has the fire, I’m all for it.
