I'm currently reading a book, thoroughly researched and sourced, about the half and quarter Jews that served in Hitler's Wehrmacht during WWII. Some also served in the Navy and Luftwaffe. Known as Mishling, like all full Jews, they were stripped of their citizenship by Hitler with the Nuremberg Racial Laws, but they still chose to wear the German uniform, and fight for Hitler. In 1942, Hitler issued an order that all half and quarter Jews had to be discharged from the military, but that was easier said than done. Many slipped through the cracks, others lied about their family history, or were protected by their commanding officers. Even Goering took care of some of his half and quarter Jew pilots.

If anything, this book also deals with the attitudes of German half, quarter and full Jews, and how they perceived Eastern European Jews. They loathed them, and prior to Hitler's rise, had discriminated against them. "Many felt that the poor, culturally backward and "dirty" Ostjuden (Eastern Jew) gave the typically well-educated and cultured German Jeckes (Jews) a bad name." They considered Eastern Jews "ghetto Jews." Many German Jews believed Hitler based his anti-semitic tirades on Osjuden, not themselves. Can you say self-loathing Jews?

For the most part, German half and quarter Jews did not consider themselves Jews, despite having a parent, or grandparent that was a full Jew. Many of these soldiers were already in Germany's military prior to Hitler coming to power. Many joined thinking it would help their Jewish relatives receive better treatment, and some did, but many lost relatives to deportation as well.

Hitler would, over the years, approve special cases of half and quarter Jews remaining in the military, and those decisions were based on the meritorious service of the man who was half or quarter Jew. He could apply for dispensation to serve, and Hitler considered these on a case by case basis.

The information in this book provides an insight into a topic that most people have no knowledge of, or could have possibly have even occurred. It shows the class distinctions between German's Jewish population, and the problems that occurred with enforcing Hitler's ever-changing racial laws within the military.

According to Soros, he described his home as a Jewish antisemitic home." He and his family weren't practicing Jews, and so he had no problem confiscating the property of Jews. It looks like the same kind of anti-semitic attitudes among the Jews in Germany, likely occurred in Hungary as well, and possibly other countries like Poland, etc. Soros obviously didn't see himself as a Jew at any time in his life. Like a lot of German Jews after WWI, they had settled into society, got educations, married non-Jews, and felt they were accepted in society. Then Hitler came along, and burst their bubbles. German half and quarter Jews couldn't understand why they were being treated so badly, because they thought they had worked hard to be seen, and accepted as German first.

So, I don't believe you can be antisemitic talking about Soros, or any of the half and quarter Jews who looked down their nose at other Jews in WWII Germany, and felt they were better than them. That's probably what Soros was taught to believe, and to not have any compassion for Jews as a whole. The bottom line is that some Jews can be antisemitic too.

Excellent, information-packed post. It took time and effort for you to share that with us, and I’m grateful that you did.

This issue of half- and quarter-Jews, and the evil that resulted (Soros being modern history Exhibit A) underscores GOD’s admonition that His chosen ones not intermarry — and even in ancient times Scripture well documents the problems that occurred when they did.

Some half Jews had been rejected by the Jewish side of the family which didn’t believe in intermarriage. I wouldn’t assume they were all antisemitic. They just thought they were Germans.

Many emigrated. I don’t know how the numbers of those who fought for Germany and those who left compared.

Some German men divorced their Jewish wives. Some German women protested and got their Jeeish husbands released. Again, I don’t know how the numbers compared.
