Many emigrated. I don’t know how the numbers of those who fought for Germany and those who left compared.

Some German men divorced their Jewish wives. Some German women protested and got their Jeeish husbands released. Again, I don’t know how the numbers compared.

During Prussia's War of Independence (1813-1815), many Jews served in Prussia's Army. Jews also served in Bavaria's military at the same time. Bavaria was more tolerant of Jews than Prussia, and in fact, many left Prussia to join the Bavarian Army. But Austria was the best when it came to integrating Jews into their armed forces successfully. Jews had fought successfully, and proved themselves reliable soldiers in many wars before WWI. After WWI ended, many of the Jewish men who'd fought, settled in Bavaria and Austria because they felt they had a better chance to advance themselves, and be successful.

When Hitler initially tried to ban all Jews from serving in the Wehrmacht, President Paul von Hindenburg was horrified. Despite being antisemitic himself, he demanded that Jews be allowed to continue to serve. Hitler's plan got swept under the carpet for a while, until he died, and then Hitler took over that post and ran with it.

With Hitler's racial laws, it was forbidden for German men to have sex with a half, quarter, or Jewish woman. A so-called "full blooded" German couldn't serve in the military if he was married to a half, quarter, or full Jew. He had to make a choice, divorce her, or leave the service.
