Visitors can expect the following arrangements for the opening weekend:

All skiing and riding operations will be centered around Main Lodge — Canyon Lodge and The Mill will remain closed.

Mammoth Mountain will operate Broadway Express (1), the lower Panorama Gondola to McCoy, and Face Lift Express (3), offering access to Broadway, Saddle Bowl and Times Square for skiing and riding.

The Panorama Gondola will run to the summit for Scenic Rides exclusively on Fridays through Sundays. Chairlifts will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m..

There will be no beginner terrain available during this initial period.

Mammoth Unbound will feature a small terrain park on the rider’s right of lower Broadway.

As the season progresses, terrain expansion will continue to be based on snowfall and snowmaking, officials said.

Visitors can are advised to ride with caution as “early season obstacles” will be present.

Several ski resorts here in Colorado are poised to open shortly. For skiers, boarders, and resort operators and workers, “can barely wait and contain excitement.”

Let it snow! (That’s coming from a transplanted Florida guy. Embracing the season.)

Oh no. Another record-breaking, historical, snowball, express, vortex, cyclone named El Niño is headed this way to bring down America. ROTFL.

The Independent, 2000:

Snow is starting to disappear from our lives. Sledges, snowmen, snowballs and the excitement of waking to find that the stuff has settled outside are all a rapidly diminishing part of Britain’s culture, as warmer winters – which scientists are attributing to global climate change – produce not only fewer white Christmases, but fewer white Januaries and Februaries … Global warming, the heating of the atmosphere by increased amounts of industrial gases, is now accepted as a reality by the international community … According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”. “Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said.

Climate change causes everything from floods to drought, tornadoes and hurricanes, more snow AND less, warmer temps and cooler ones. Hell, it even causes hemorrhoids, halitosis, flatulence and impotence.

I used to be a ski fanatic when I was younger but haven't skied in 20 years.

To many people, especially me, its become unaffordable.

For example, a daily lift ticket at Vail is now approx. $265.00

Will be interesting to see how the "Climate Activists" - and California is full of them all the way up to Newsom - try to spin this, I suspect with resounding silence.

Newsom will continue to ramp up hysteria about "Global Warming" "Climate Change" mandating an end to economy-destroying policies such no gasoline engines and continuing with ridiculous "carbon offsets."

Newsom will say the early opening is due to "Climate Change."

He'd say same if Mammoth had a late opening.

I remember Rush saying the climategoons will cite climate change no matter what the weather does. If it's hot....climate change. If it's cold...climate change.

The climategoons can never be wrong this way. They continue to move the goalposts.
