Nashville DA says "law must be altered" after suspect released from jail is accused of shooting college student in the head

Taylor has been charged criminally several times in the past. In 2021, Taylor was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon after he and another man were accused of shooting at a female driver while her two children were in the back seat. At least two rounds struck the vehicle. Earlier this year, a Nashville judge dismissed those charges, and Taylor was released after court-appointed doctors testified that he was incompetent to stand trial. Federal and state law prohibit the prosecution of mentally incompetent defendants.

The May 19 court order explained that Taylor had developed pneumonia at birth, which led to a brain infection, and that he continues to function at a kindergarten level. Because Taylor also did not meet the criteria for involuntary commitment, the court had "reached the limit of its authority," Criminal Court Judge Angelita Blackshear Dalton wrote.

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell echoed those sentiments in a statement calling for “... a renewed conversation about how we limit access to firearms for individuals we know are a threat to the community.”

In other words, licensed gun owners with no criminal records.

I have NEVER heard a dem talk about cleaning up guns in crime zones, only going after white NRA members and legal gun owners.

Anyone remember the city council woman who screamed DEFUND THE POLICE only to be violently carjacked in front of her kids? NOW she wants the po-po back. They care nothing of us.

Whoever puts a bullet or two into this savage while he’s committing his next violent crime should be given a medal, a new gun, and 5,000 rounds of ammunition.

"He really couldn't help it
Only a lad
He didn't wanna do it
Only a lad
He's underprivileged and abused
Perhaps a little bit confused"

40 years later, and still applies.

State law requires at least two doctors to certify that the person is suffering from a severe mental illness or developmental disability that causes that person to be at a substantial risk of serious harm to himself or others. The doctors must also find that there are no less restrictive measures that could be taken.

If the doctors find a person incompetent to stand trial, they have already found that he is suffering from severe mental illness, devevelopmental disability, or dementia.

The facts establish that he is a danger to others. Perhaps a judge or panel of judges should make the ruling for commitment based on the facts.

He doesn't have the facial expression of a kindergartner. He looks like standard issue thug.

From this article, he can drive.

From a New York Post article, he has a girlfriend, he told her he shot someone, and he handed off the gun to someone else after the shooting.

Like any kindergartner.

The greasy "judge" never has to worry about interactions with the kindergarten thug.

Of course, if he DID step out of line in her protected and privileged space, he'd end up like Napoleon Beazley:

The entire article contained no picture of the kindergartner.

How many kindergartners have dreads?

How many are not at home under the care of parents.

Unlike this “kid” who is out roaming the streets with a gun and doesn’t have the sense to look beyond his “target” to the innocent victim or victims.

Also has a record of previous crimes far beyond the capabilities of the average kindergartner, to include car jacking which is pretty much grand theft.

One might think this black menace needs to be in solitary for the remainder of his days on earth.

Obviously, if a habitual violent criminal is extremely stupid, he poses no danger to the community.

Notice how they don’t have a picture of the shooter.

Interesting.

Notice how it isn’t replayed on the national news 8 million times.

Interesting.
