Israeli women have been in combat since they were fighting for their state and even before.

The female Israeli Sabras are famous. Tough and prickly on the outside and sweet and soft on the inside.

Soft armor does no good against bladed weapons and even if she was wearing plates, it has gaps and doesn’t cover your entire body.

Not relevant to this story, and God Bless this brave woman - and provide comfort and solace to her family - but I really don't like this 'dual-citizenship' status.
Pick a team (nation) and go with it. Besides Israel, the US grants dual citizenship to quite a few other nations. That's just wrong. It institutionalizes divided loyalties. IF you want to be an American citizen, and then subcontract your work as a mercenary to another country - I guess that's ok (I won't stand in the way of anyone's profession, or hobby) - but you should be a citizen of only one Nation.

This passage, obviously applies to something more important and eternal, Worship God - and nothing else.

Soft body armor is pretty good at protecting against slashes.

If the bladed weapon has a sharp point and sharp edges, some soft body armor is not much of a protection against a stabbing attack.

Considering the knife used, I suspect the killer managed to avoid the body armor.

There should be mandatory 2-3 year service for USA yutes and most of it should be spent on border security.

We might soon see peacetime conscription in the form it existed from 1940 to 1973. Conscripts would be used to fill positions that couldn't be filled through recruiting. If that happens, recruiting will improve in the Air Force, Coast Guard and Navy, as people seek to avoid the Army. Not sure if the Marines will be effected much. Conscripts will get the least desirable jobs, those that can't be filled through recruiting. Of course, there will be ways to avoid service, especially if you have money.

A far easier way to fix recruiting would be to get rid of free college. That used to be one of the top incentives for lower middle class to enlist. Now it is free for most without giving up 4 years of your life.
