California Officials Confirm 2 Cases of Dengue, a Mosquito-Borne Illness Rarely Transmitted in US

Two people in Southern California have come down with dengue fever without traveling outside the United States, where the mosquito-borne illness is rare, health officials said.

A Pasadena resident was confirmed to have dengue last month but is recovering, officials said.

“This is the first confirmed case of dengue in California not associated with travel and is instead an extremely rare case of local transmission in the continental United States,” the Pasadena Public Health Department announced.

The case remains under investigation, but it appears that someone became infected with the dengue virus, returned home and was bitten by a mosquito that passed it on to the local resident, according to Pasadena health officials.

If you lay out the map....maybe 60-percent of the countries with Dengue Fever are in Central/South America. But it also shows up in China, Thailand, and India.

If you run a decent mosquito prevention program...the threat lessens. I might ask the question...does California have a program, or has it been outlawed?

I might add this footnote as well...if you live outdoors, in a crappy camp setting, with a ample population of mosquitos...it’s pretty good odds that you will develop Dengue Fever, and it will only be diagnosed when you are in the final week of life (too late to do much). So the homeless population will get the full thrust of the situation.

someone became infected with the dengue virus, returned home.......

LOL! Someone infected with the dengue virus crossed the Mexican border (probably illegally) and fetched up in Los Angeles. Just one of many diseases the uncontrolled alien flood is bringing with it.

So, travel outside the US is assumed to be the cause after all. Can these "journalists" ever express a coherent thought?
