Is it over AI created images and money, money, money?
The purpose of running a for-profit movie studio is to make a profit.
Are you serious?
I watched it too.
They could easily have edited out a good 90 minutes.
I sense this was a Sorcesee guilt trip movie.
Did The Osage tribe bank roll the fillm?
Nobody but people like us are going to sit thru it. At least three couples walked out when I was there. I think they went Perry’s flick.
Let Hollywood die. Don’t give them a penny.
I had to laugh about “Dune Part 2”...
Part 2 of a remake of a remake....
Hollywood is a joke.
Apparently, the remaining Pythons are re-releasing Monty Python and the Holy Grail in theaters this December for the 48-1/2-year anniversary. I hope it blows everything else out of the water, but the woketards will probably protest the hell out of it.
Hollywoods expiration date is past due. very few films are watchable anymore which is why I stick to TCM.
That’s a great idea. And at discounted prices and/or as double bills so folks have a few bucks left over to sip or snack on something.
Having read the book in my youth I would have gone to see Dune 2. Even if it did change some of the original people for the sake of wokeness. At the time I first read it did not realize the similarities between the Freeman and Islam. It is kind of obvious now.
Huge tracks of Land!
Ok we'll call it a draw.
European or African?
So many great lines I wonder has many people remember the context of these quotes? During a Job Interview I was asked if I had any questions. I said 'What is the terminal velocity of a Laden Swallow' . Big Surprise! I did not get the job.
There’s a actors strike? Who knew?
I'm stoked to see Napoleon though, definitely going to watch it in the theaters.
Dune—”spice” = “oil”—transportation fuel that drives civilization....
These days the real “spice” is corrupt insider deals—that is how you destroy civilization.
I’m holding out for a remake of “Blazing Saddles”. That will be the true test.
And Meghan Markle is still AWOL from the picket lines...
They did need that spice for transport. Jumping between stars that is.
Yeah I was being kind, maybe edit out a lot more than half an hour...
Osage guilt trip:
(to paraphrase a Bananarama song) Robert DeNiro’s waiting, talking Osage (talking Osage...)
The Irishman was a bit long too. It was to play one night only in late Nov of 2019 at a theatre near me, but I had a chance to see Denny Laine (Wings, Moody Blues) for free that night at a theatre. I later subscribed to Netflix (first free trial, then reg membership) and saw it on there. Could control it re: bathroom trips. Was eating Thanksgiving leftovers.
Scorcese thanked us for coming out to the theatre in bit at the start of Flower Moon.
He’d said he didn’t like the idea of people seeing films on a phone or computer—best to go to cinema or at least something like a 42” flatscreen.
I did “rent” Wolf of Wall Street on phone, though.
“What am I, a schmuck on wheels?”—Morrie, GoodFellas
Nice old theatre near me has shown Jaws (Mem Day weekend, start of summer) and The Shining (Halloween), nice clear print at a majestic theatre. Nice.
When Jaws was shown Narragansett Beer was sold and there were coaster giveaways, etc. Quint easily crushes a can of ‘gansett in the film. “Crush it like Quint”
(Hooper responds by powerfully crushing a plastic cup!!)
One was made in animated form—Paws of Fury The Legend of Hank. Toned down of course...Brooks co-produced, co-wrote,
voiced a character. Samarai dog in a village of cats.
Samuel L Jackson as one cat, spoofing his profanity:
“What the motherfather cockerspaniel is goin’ on here?”
In previews shown last night—American Fiction—literate black author is told only books that sell are the ones with black stereotypical language, etc, so he soon remarkets himself as a mutha straight from the hood.
More superheros from Marvel and DC on the way.
I am a huge movie fan and am always looking to see what is out - there is nothing better than sitting in a dark theater, with popcorn and a drink, enjoying the huge screen - and then going out to dinner afterwards.
There have been very few movies that I’ve even been interested in over the past two or so years - the last time I was in a theater was to see “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” - in 2019.
Some of the running times are far too long - Oppenheimer and
Killers of the Flower Moon - I’d rather wait until they’re on one of the streaming services and I’ll watch it over two nights.
