Azithromycin is the current default, but it seems doxycycline is a better choice, overall.

Good news for Doxycyclene but it put me in the hospital with heart attack symptoms. Turned out there was no heart connection but I don’t want it again.

Doxycycline only reduced the risk of relapse in patients with previous C. difficile .
For first episodes azithromycin and doxycycline were equal.
