WASHINGTON — U.S. and European officials have begun quietly talking to the Ukrainian government about what possible peace negotiations with Russia might entail to end the war, according to one current senior U.S. official and one former senior U.S. official familiar with the discussions.

The conversations have included very broad outlines of what Ukraine might need to give up to reach a deal, the officials said. Some of the talks, which officials described as delicate, took place last month during a meeting of representatives from more than 50 nations supporting Ukraine, including NATO members, known as the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, the officials said.

Russia won't sign the cease fire until Ukraine agrees that they won't contest the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Sucks but "might is right".

On day one, if the Russians went after Odessa instead of Kyiv, they would probably have taken it. But it may be difficult for them to keep it because they have issues with their logistics.

First step is to get rid of the current Zelensky puppet regime, and install a new puppet regime who will negotiate a peace deal.

I can’t believe our Grifter In Chief is going to let the Ukraine money train grind to a halt. But fortunately we have Israel/Hamas up to a nice roar. And there is money to be made rebuilding the countries we’ve been dealing arms to.

Then we can play money games with the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan and Taiwan. That should do keeping the MIC rolling in dough for a decade.

That’s the problem. The reason the Russians attacked in the first place was to get rid of the DC puppet state. Trump tried to do this but the same Uke and DC oligarchs responsible for this crap show impeached and stopped him. Putin finished the job. The Russians will not accept a NATO satrapy in Ukraine.

The Russians will retake Kharkov and Odessa (traditionally Russian and Russian speaking) before they agree to negotiate now. If anything we’ve been told by both wings of the Uniparty, the media and many dullards here is true, the revanchist Soviet Union should be rolling into the Baltic States and Poland any day now.

The Russians will take Kharkov too. All of what once was Russian speaking Ukraine will be Russian. Unfortunately, our corrupt oligarchs in DC have so thoroughly destroyed Ukraine that much of Ukrainian speaking Ukraine might end up in Poland.

--- "...quietly talking to the Ukrainian government about what possible peace negotiations with Russia might entail...."

One observes that this reported "quiet talk" is with but one side. This is tantamount to the feckless "U.S. and European officials" who would like to get off the stage they constructed for themselves, and promoted for the last two years. Hands deep in the geopolitical "cookie jar," it seems their plans have gone awry, and now they -- the U.S. and European officials cited -- want to blame someone other than themselves.

All policies, politics and military actions have outcomes, and the leaders want to be seen as always wise and correct, lest they be proven clueless and inept. Alas, they began this and the other games, climate change and green politics, as the clueless and inept leaders who climbed into positions of power without understanding and wisdom.

So, naturally, it has to be someone else's fault when things don't seem to be turning out as "advertised."

“traditionally Russian and Russian speaking”

Since the 18th century (Catherine the Great) Odessa has been Russian. In 1920 the Russians made Odessa part of THEIR Ukrainian SOVIET Socialistic Republic. I assume your Ukrainian friends in Odessa aren’t stupid enough to believe the “Ukraine is winning” BS and are preparing for the Russian retaking of the city. I can only pray that the DC globalists and neocons stop this slaughter by allowing the Ukes to negotiate a settlement before your friends suffer through a bloody siege of the city.

It took two years for NATO to maneuver Ukraine into its hellish, unwinnable situation. DC has condensed the process of going from “unlimited, everything we’ve got support” to “our leftist domestic supporters have forced us to pull back” to taking less than a month in Israel.
