healy61:Wow. Lost me. Anyone else?

I try to be as clear as possible and use language that ordinary people understand.

vivenne: Antibiotics destroy the good bacteria in the gut and that weakens the immune system. But, whatever.

Yes, that was my point exactly.

Whether you realize it or not, the entire antivax narrative is based on the premise that immune system activation is the most dangerous process that can happen in your body.

Vaccines use parts of pathogens to provoke immune responses. Vaccines themselves don't do anything. Only the immune system does anything after vaccination.

So, if something like gut bacteria cause the immune system to activate and the antivaxxers are being truthful when they tell you that immune activation is dangerous, don't you want to get rid of those bacteria and stop that dangerous immune system from doing anything?

Why are you trying to hijack someone's thread about intestinal microbiome and converting it into your personal soapbox on the mostly unrelated subject of covid vaccines and then using it to speak down to "the ordinary people". You should start your own thread or snark on a Covid vaccine thread.

(And by the way your "the entire antivax narrative is based on the premise that immune system activation is the most dangerous process that can happen in your body" is a laughably FALSE statement since the antivax crowd keeps saying that natural immunity is the way to go. )
