Poultry bones become brittle when cooked. Then they can splinter and poke through a dog’s intestines. The dog would bleed to death or develop an infection.

Overseas, I keep telling my dogs that, but somehow they find chicken bones (not from us) and live dangerously.

That’s what they were watching for - they took a few x-rays to see if the bones were dissolving or if they needed to operate to remove them.

I can’t imagine what the bill would be if they had to do surgery!
