Boys graduate high school at lower rates than girls, with lifelong consequences

They attend the same classes with access to the same programs, and even come from the same families. But girls consistently are outperforming boys, graduating at higher rates at public high schools around the country.

The gap between them is wide, often as wide as the achievement gap between students from affluent and low-income families, a problem that officials have tracked closely for years. But the reasons why boys are falling short are not as clear.

Interviews with students, educators and researchers point to several factors. Men generally can earn the same wages as women with less education. But boys also are more likely to face suspensions or other discipline knocking them off track, and they don’t pursue help as often when they face mental health challenges.

Some boys are fine when they first drop out, landing jobs providing steady incomes. But over the long term, lacking a high school degree can hold men back. Studies show young men who drop out of high school earn less over their lifetimes and are more likely to end up in jail. …

It is always the system.

Can parents help? Yes, but they are fighting an uphill battle and many of them are also products of that same system so they do not know there is anything else possible.

Free education for all children in public schoos. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.

— Tenth plank of communism
Communization of education has really undermined society as a whole, particularly since it’s geared towards the communists’ goal of “abolition of the family”.

"Men generally can earn the same wages as women with less education."

That is ambiguous.

Does it mean that men can earn the same wages even if they have less education than the women? Or they get paid the same as women who are less educated than they are?

“Boys graduate high school at lower rates than girls, with lifelong consequences”

Boys today can ‘thank’ their fathers and grandfathers for supporting ‘women’s liberation’.

More of the little fellas at the top and bottom of the bell curve.

And who is surprised that those at the bottom of the curve tend to earn less than those higher up?

Or that more little fellas act up in school than their lassie counterparts?

Somehow reality gets reported as shocking news these days.

Girls should get busy work instead of substance and recess?

That’s not grading according to merit, is it?

The problem with the statistics for boys not graduating from high school is they include a lot of corruptibles that are just on their way to jail from birth.

The last 40+ years have seen a drastic focus away from encouraging men to do anything. All the focus has been on “female empowerment” and being an “independent woman”!!! You should have a career, not kids. The entire focus of the whole education system has been to encourage women in every discipline. Boys are a complete afterthought, left to their own devices - many (ahem...FEMALE) teachers don’t give a damn about them. I saw this first hand with my sons’ public education, he got A’s on tests but not overall - when questioned about what is the problem, they had no interest at all in trying to find the problem - they were very dismissive.

How is any of this a surprise?

I was seduced at the age of seventeen and spent the next 40+ years making up for lost time. That experience pushed me to succeed in the aerospace industry and subsequent private consultancy. Now I’m definitely not talking about professional ladies of the night but I realised early on the you had to pat to play. One way ort the other. I’d like to Ms. Smith, my senior English teacher, as a great influence and lovely introduction to life. It certainly pays to stay aware, mind your Ps & Qs, and remember what Brother Dave Gardner said; “The worst I ever had was wonderful.”

Feminism has taken over and we live in a gynocentric society where nobody cares about males.

This is a direct result of the feminization of education. It is designed by women, administered by women, taught by women in a way that women understand.

Exactly.

We’ve made prototype packaging using 3D printing. Maybe if the future brings customized medical implants 3D printing could be profitable.

Injection molding is much faster once you have the molds made.

Back when “women’s liberation” started, my response was, “I’ll take it seriously when they start drafting them.”
