“Not only did the 22-year-old admit that she ‘hated’ the original 1937 movie, she also described the film’s Prince as a ‘stalker’ and branded the storyline ‘weird.’
‘I just mean that it’s no longer 1937. She’s not going to be saved by the prince and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love,’ Zegler Variety a year ago.
‘She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave, and true.’”
That’s pretty much the treatment Snow White got in 2012 with “Mirror Mirror” which also had better talent: Julia Roberts, Lilly Collins, Armie Hammer, and Nathan Lane.
Delivered with action, humor, and minimal PC BS.
Mirror Mirror looks like a fun movie.
These classic stories have been reimagined, reinterpreted, and remade again and again.
In 1997, Snow White was a horror movie in Snow White: A Tale of Terror. Sigourney Weaver played the Wicked Stepmother, and she had her own take on the original story. She liked that the original Snow White was a brunette (as she is). I'm not offended.
Everyone is free to dislike Rachel Zegler for her comments. I don't understand the uproar, but maybe I missed something she said. Whatever. It's just Hollywood.
