He poses the question. He answers it: If he were dead, you would see a lot of symptoms of behind the scene struggles for power between his subordinates, just he tip of the iceberg visible, but some symptoms. Then he states that he was watching all the sources for the past two days, and saw no such evidence. Everything was the same crap as usual in Russia, nothing unusual going on behind the scenes. So he concludes that Putin is alive and well, despite the rumors.
And that has the ring of plausibility to it.

Putin has supposedly been on his death bed with everything from late state terminal cancer to heart failure for years now. Except he always turns up looking just fine. I’m no Putin fan, but I put little stock in such claims anymore, I figure they are either mindless speculation or purposeful psyops put out by one of the intelligence agencies to make him look weak. Of course, Putin is in his 70’s so if they keep saying he’s dead, eventually somebody will get it right, but it might take another 20 years, who knows?

Thing is, he’s gonna die sometime. The over/under on him is probably less than most people would think.
So how would we know if he did die? Russia could put on all kinds of funereal theatrics and news conferences, but how would we KNOW?

No, he died a year ago, 5 months ago and last week, he’s suffered multiple deaths. He’s got more body doubles than a case of doublemint gum. He’s so dead he doesn’t even smell anymore.

The way to tell if Putin is dead is to count the number of still-intact buildings in Kiev. If more than zero, then yes, Putin is dead (or at least out of power).
