In the history of the World Series, teams that lead by multiple runs after 8 innings were 466 and 8.

Wow. A late comeback and win like the Rangers pulled off often has carryover (see the Dodgers in 1988; of course they also had a red-hot Orel Hershisher). We'll see what happens tonight. But if nothing else the Rangers won at home, something they did not do against the Astros.

Bad decision by the Diamondbacks pitching coaches last night.

And with the Rangers unbeaten on the road in the post season, they needed at least one home win.

So strange that it turned out to be a blessing the Rangers lost the Division to the Astros the last day of the season, otherwise they would have had home field (dis)advantage.

Yes....the Kirk Gibson one was memorable.....Kirby Puckett in game 6 to send the series to game 7 was also another memorable one. Last nights will also be so as long as the Rangers follow through and win it all.

Rangers take game one in a thriller. Game two features Merrill Kelly (R) for the Diamondbacks vs Jordan Montgomery (L) for the Rangers.
