This is the awkward moment a drag queen named Pickle was stopped from entering a California library for a children's drag queen story hour by protestors.
A group of at least 50 protestors showed up at the San Fernando Library to protest the event, labelled 'Drag Queen Storytime'.
The event was to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month, according to an event listing, and Pickle was to be joined by the 3rd District Supervisor Lindsey P. Horvath.
Due to the protesters blocking the drag queen from entering the building, the event was cancelled at the last minute.
Video of Pickle being denied entry to the building has since been shared on social media, with her being surrounded by police officers as protestors shout and chant.
One protestor can also be seen in the video holding onto a gate to the library as they shouted: 'Leave our kids alone.'
Another person on a megaphone can be heard saying to Pickle: 'Bye bye', as the drag queen looks on stunned.
According to the LA County Library, the event was to be a 'fun drag story time' that involved 'stories that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion'.
San Fernando Police Lieutenant Pete Aguirre told The San Fernando Sun that they knew about the protest and sent officers, as well as a contingent of County Sheriffs.
He said: 'Their primary objective [was] to ensure no one got assaulted, no one got injured.
'And in that end, we were successful. Secondary to that was opening the thruway to ensure people could get in and out.'
Aguirre confirmed to the outlet that nobody was arrested and no violence ensued, despite protestors illegal blocking the public space.

Really? Another alphabet club celebration? Between this and Oride Month and all the this days and that days of visibility and awareness, gays & com must be well over 60 days of celebration every year by now
