I have a degree in Music from SDSU in 1978. I love pretty much all kinds of music, although opera and jazz are toward the bottom of my list, lol. As a young person in the 70s and 80s, I wasn’t a big fan of metal, preferring regular and symphonic rock.
I’m 70 now and I rediscovered metal a few yrs ago. Now I love it and I think the most maligned musical groups are bands like Metallica, AC-DC, and Black Sabbath. The stamina required to perform their songs is mind-boggling and their musicianship should be applauded.

I think a majority of 80s metal fans became Conservatives over time.
It’s the grunge folks that are to the left.

The guitar arpeggios are nothing short of amazing. That kind of precision and speed requires skill and stamina.

Absolutely:) I’ve loved metal since age 14, when some of Metallica’s songs sounded like masterpieces to me. Don’t listen to music very often these days though.
