Anyway, while I find Springsteen rather unctuous as a person, the quality of his music and his contributions to the rock world is undeniable.

If he was spouting conservative beliefs on stage, people here would hail him as the second coming. (And you all know it, too.)

But because he's a stupid liberal (and a hypocrite), well, his music must suck. Right?

No; they’re deniable. I hear no influence of any of his music in any new music. Not to mention, he’s highly derivative, sounding either like Van Morrison or Bob Dylan on earlier material and adopting a “wall of sound” style during the middle part of his career.

I'm an old time rock and roll player, along with just about anything else. I'm a 5 instrument guy. I NEVER EVER liked Springsteen's music one bit or respected him for his ability or song writing. Even before I knew anything about his political beliefs. He over-sang everything and made a fool out of himself on stage. His songs are preachy, screamy and overlong. He's really not much of a talent IMO. The Boss? Not by a LONG shot.

There's an awful lot I don't like about Springsteen and it's not just about his stupid childish politics.

IMO, there’s plenty not to like about his music aside from his political beliefs. That said, I agree - I’ve seen many Freepers who’ll bend over backwards to praise someone’s work - in non-political areas - if they espouse conservative viewpoints. Likewise, I’ve seen them switch on a dime from love to hate if said person voices a position with which they disagree.

To me, his best songs seem to be the ones that never got much airplay on FM radio back when they were first released.

“New York City Serenade” is an iconic piece of work, for example. A top act like Bruce Springsteen playing with an orchestra behind him is quite a unique sound.

E-Street was tight. Max and Clarence and Nils Lofgren (I've seen both, and Nils was better than Little Stevie because Nils listens, plus trampoline lol).

I remember vividly the Tunnel of Love tour where it was clear the BoSs had lured Patty back to start boinking her again, literally days after marrying Julianne Phillips.

He inflicted pain on Phillips, and he flaunted it in public, so f--- him and everything that looks like him. Karma coming for him is worse than a faceplant. Cancer is a bitch, Broooce and it's all over your genetic background.

I love Springsteen, only artist I have consistently liked for 40 years. That said, he is a liberal douche.
