WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KRNV) — Two people wanted in connection to a high-profile murder in the Lake Tahoe area of California have been caught after more than two years.
Daniel Serafini, 49, and Samantha Scott, 33, were arrested separately in Nevada in connection to the shooting death of Serafini’s father-in-law, 70-year-old Gary Spohr, and the attempted murder of his mother-in-law, Wendy Wood.
Serafini was arrested in Winnemucca early Friday morning and Scott was arrested in Las Vegas with the help of the U.S. Marshals. Both are awaiting extradition back to Placer County, Calif.
On June 5, 2021, deputies with the Placer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the community of Homewood, on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. Multiple people had been reported shot. Deputies found Spohr dead from a gunshot wound and Wood suffering from gunshot wounds to her head and wrist.

He is not going to be able to pitch his way out of this one.
He could never pitch his way out of anything, but he was a left-hander so he got plenty of chances. Most often used for one year with the Twins and one year with the Cubs.

Spohr and Wood looked like a nice couple. I hope the son-in-law and his chick get what they deserve!

So the article says that he used to be their son-in-law, married to one of their daughters, and they had owned a business together, now defunct. My guess is that it’s either about some kind of debt from the business, and the dad was helping his daughter or had told him off and demanded payment. That, or a child custody issue, are my guesses.
The woman accomplice is probably his present girlfriend, and she wants da munnah, or to be out from under a child support or debt repayment order.
Played enough years to be comfortable later in life.
So why didn’t he spend his free time counting his money?
