*My usual policy is to skip news from Europe since there is plenty of domestic news to keep me busy. The news in today’s Times Machine edition, however, is mostly illegible on pages 1-6. The quality is good on pages 7 and 8, which is where the news from Europe happens to be. So, in order to provide readable material I am forced to suspend the anti-Europe policy – HJS.
