Occupiers plan to send 10,000 Ukrainian children from TOT on “educational excursions” to Russia, - Lubinets

The Russian invaders plan to send 10,000 Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions on an “excursion” to Moscow and St Petersburg by the end of the year. The occupiers call this route “cultural enlightenment”.

This was reported by the Office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, Censor.NET reports.

It is noted that such plans of the occupiers became known through the monitoring of information Internet channels of the Russian and occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied territories.

Thus, especially for Ukrainian children, the Russians have developed the so-called “Cultural Map 4+85”. As part of it, they have created eight “educational” routes that should introduce children “to the rich cultural heritage of a great country”.

The occupiers have already taken children from the Luhansk and Donetsk regions on their so-called “excursions”. Currently, 300 children from the Zaporizhzhia region are next in line.

The Office noted that regardless of the route, the so-called “cultural” programs for children are similar. In addition to performances, parks and city tours, they are taken to specially created museum exhibitions called “The People’s Feat” and encouraged to participate in military quests.

“Contrary to the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Russian propaganda machine is working non-stop. Having tried various methods of eradicating self-identity and belonging to the Ukrainian people among the Crimean population since 2014, the occupiers are now focusing on Ukrainian children who, together with their parents, have been forced to find themselves under the rule of the Russian aggressor,” Dmytro Lubinets said.

According to him, the occupiers start “patriotic education” of Ukrainian children from preschool age and introduce them to “heroes of the special military operation”.

“Russia continues its violent genocidal policy against Ukraine. More than one generation of Ukrainians is being erased,” the Ombudsman emphasizes.

I hope that Ukraine is doing a good job of having interesting and dramatic videos/TV films prepared about its own history.

I was quite impressed when I read 2 of the 4 books from Sholokhov’s grand book. Nobel Laureate Mikhail Sholokhov’s masterpiece “And Quiet Flows the Don” follows the life and fate of the Cossacks living in the Don River valley during the early 20th century, through the Great War and Russian Revolution. The Bolshevik’s attempt to turn an agricultural way of life into a factory run system was a complete failure I was impressed by the way in which the semi democratically chosen Hetman attempted to fairly allocate land to the most efficient farmers, and distribute various quality land so many would have a fair shot at good results.

The earlier Cossac history is also very interesting, as well as the struggles of Ukrinian peoples to keep out from under the control of Russia. I hope that if Ukraine media is not already doing so, they will expand programs that do a good job of illustrating their history so that even those people living in the occupied zones can catch it on TV.

The Russian theft of Ukrainian children is one terrible aspect of this war. One wonders how many children were taken away after their parents were murdered/killed, in the small towns east of Kiev, where so many early attrocities were discovered or in large town like Mariupol that were heavily bombarded before capture. Now it appears people in the occupied zones are to be deprived of their children too, or have them brainwashed no matter how the parents feel. I have recently heard 3 other disturbing reports on this issue.

1. Regarding Ukraine. It was reported efforts are currently being made to get back 20,000 identified children. The person interviewed said there are likely from 100,000 to 150,000 Ukraine children in Russian hands who are unnamed to Ukraine authorities.

2. In Argentina. The Grandmothers organization in Argentina is still trying to find missing grandchildren, perhaps as many as 20,000. Women who were taken by the Fascist police when pregnant were often allowed to give birth, but killed afterwards. So many babies were given to regime supporters but no one has given the Grandmothers any/adequate records.

3. At the US Border. Many parents were separated from their children as a result of border crossing, under the previous administration. The current administration has succeeded in reuniting quite a number of families. However, babies and young children are unable to assist in searches for parents, and poor records were kept of whereabouts of children and their parents/guardians. Around 1,000 children have still not been reuinited with their parents, given the lack of adequate search information.
