The GOP House members are showing they especially do not care about the voters who elected them.

The GOP squandered their power when they controlled the House and Senate and Trump was President, because too many of them did not like Trump.

It has only gone downhill from there.

Why should they? More and more it is apparent that our government has only the veneer of democratic input. Most house districts are gerrymandered to such an extent that only one party can ever win it and 90% of the time that party’s candidate is going to be the incumbent.

Even when the incumbent is not running the primaries are a competition of spending and attention. How many people even get close to their congress person much less know them or known by them? Congressional Representative districts are far too big to truly represent.

Congress represents those who can bring them money and votes. That means they work for their party (which controls their district boundaries and committee seats), special interest voting blocks (unions and other vote organizers), and big donors and PACs that provide money. You and I never factor into the calculations. Who else are we gonna vote for anyways?

“The GOP House members are showing they especially do not care about the voters who elected them.”

That’s been evident for a long time. They only want our votes and our money, but not our principles and values.
