An LAPD driver slammed his cruiser into a fellow officer who was sprinting across the street - sending him flying - during a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

Los Angeles Police Department dashcam footage showed the shocking moment an officer behind the wheel hit his colleague with the cruiser.

The officer driving the cruiser was speeding down the roads of Sun Valley, Los Angeles on October 13 to catch a stolen black pickup truck.

Suddenly a passenger in the car yelled 'heads up' right before the driver crashed into his fellow officer and sent him flying across the street before the victim's body slammed into a puddle and he slid across the wet pavement.

The dramatic pursuit ended shortly after, with the driver of the stolen truck crashing into a fire hydrant and another car in a driveway.

The officer who had been slammed down by the cruiser was reportedly not seriously injured.

The video, obtained by KTLA, caught some of the aftermath of the incident.

After the collision, other officers rushed out of their own vehicles to help him.

Within minutes the injured officer managed to get back up on his feet and LA fire paramedics were able to assist him on his way to the hospital.

The pursuit came to its shocking end on Covello Street and Hollywood Way just after 5.00 pm.

Captain Kelly Muniz of the LAPD said: 'We were in pursuit of a stolen vehicle when an officer was struck at the termination sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

'We are thankful our officer was not seriously injured in this accident.'

Ahh, like the good old days when LAPD used to shoot up pickup trucks because they were driven slowly by newspaper delivery ladies.

Glad to see that LAPD is still aggressively pursuing criminals. Suggests that Soros DA George Gascon has backed away from the craziness that resulted in him nearly being recalled. Near-death (career-wise) experiences have a way of interjecting moments of clarity.
