The Caleb Williams saga is going to be one that we're going to get tired of quickly. It's a unique situation. As long as Williams stays healthy and doesn't completely shit the bed, he will go number one in next year's draft. He's already got a Heisman Trophy, and now it seems like he's making demands.
About a month back, it was reported that Williams would consider staying in college if the Cardinals ended up with the number one overall pick. I think that's such an insane thing to entertain. It was like the first week of the season, why would you just randomly throw the Arizona Cardinals out there as a member of your shit list. But now it seems like he wants part ownership of a team.
Caleb Williams is a bold man. He played a terrible game last week against Notre Dame, but he is the most hyped quarterback prospect we've seen since Andrew Luck. I think he knows that he holds all the cards here, but will any teams be willing to pony up and actually give him equity? Aaron Rodgers is a multi-time MVP award winner with a Super Bowl in his back pocket, and the Jets still said no.

How long till he plays race card
Focus on your damn passing accuracy before you end up with a losing season.
Exactly!
Here’s your 1 or 2% share of ownership. You can’t sell this share to anyone outside of current ownership for 35 years.
After last weeks performance, Archie Griffin certainly has nothing to worry about with this guy.
I disagree, Civ.
There is not that much guaranteed money floating around.
Of course, if you are Denver Bronco fan thinking about Russell Wilson, or a Jets fan thinking about Aaron Rodgers, you have a good point.
The #1 pick in 2023 gets $41 million guaranteed across four years. That is $10 million and change per season.
Elite veteran QBs are getting close to $40 million per year.
The only guys with guaranteed money are elite veterans and First Round draft choices, and the draft choices get paid a fraction of what the elite veterans get.
How many other players would want a slice of the pie?????
Dyan Cannon was quite the smokin' hottie back in the day as was Julie Christie
Is he part of the Kapernick family ?
I despise Notre Dame too. I have a very good friend who’s son is one of USC’s TE’s. So I was really hoping USC would do some damage, but ND exposed him. I’m a Bears fan too, so it’s been a rough couple of decades for me. I would definitely trade him to a team desperate for a quarterback. You know I don’t blame him to ask for a small % of the team. There might be some lame brain owner out there who is willing to give him that. You know what they say, “All I need is one.”
will williams play another year. An excerpt from the net pre-ND debacle.
Another factor at play here is the fact that collegians are now entitled to earn money through Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) ventures, and as one of the top athletes in all of college sports, Williams has taken full advantage of that. As noted in a recent article by the Sports Business Journal, Williams has built a “seven-figure portfolio” through deals with brands like Beats by Dre and PlayStation, so he may have the financial wherewithal to pass on an NFL landing spot that he considers less than ideal.
Houston wouldn’t disagree. :^) After one banner victory, the nitwits at the Browns probably would. :^D

This is the kind of stuff that paves the way for Manziel 2.0.
Some NFL owner will do it-they’re dumb. Think Watson(Cleveland). Gave him all that guaranteed money. Just how injured is he? Then there’s Kyler Murray. Wouldn’t play without big guarantees after only 3 years. Same big money but accomplished nothing. took himself out of a losing game rather than go down with the ship. Owners and coaches are afraid.
It’s the negro factor.
Who cares. It’s still a smart thing to ask for. Might not be a smart thing for the team to agree to. But you can never get anything you don’t ask for.
The barely ranked Irish popped his balloon. Pro coaches already have that film.
Some other college quarterback should come out and say he wants to sleep with the owner’s wife.
Lincoln Riley, not USC, is the QB factory. TWO of his QBs were Heisman winners and #1 draft picks. Jalen Hurts improved from his time at Alabama and was #2 Heisman.
Read up on Lincoln Riley. He’s been training QBs since sophomore year in college, and was the youngest offensive coordinator when that happened. USC vastly improved when they snagged Riley from Oklahoma, along with Williams.
He should ABSOLUTELY play for the Packers. He has the right to buy into them along with 500,000 other shareholders... none of which can own more than 4% total. I hope he goes along the same path as Johnny Manziel.
