The Republicans opposing Rep. Jim Jordan's bid for speaker made themselves known on the House floor in the first roll call vote Tuesday to elect a new speaker of the House, and with 20 voting against him, he failed to secure a majority in the first round.
When the vote finished, this was the final tally: Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries, of New York, had 212 votes, those of every Democrat, Jordan had 200 GOP votes, six Republicans voted for former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, seven voted for House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and three voted for former Rep. Lee Zeldin, of New York. Rep. Mike Garcia, of California, won one vote, as did Rep. Tom Emmer, of Minnesota, and Rep. Tom Massie, of Kentucky.
Here are the Republicans who voted against Jordan on the first vote, so far:
Rep. Don Bacon, of Nebraska, was the first to cast a vote for McCarthy. Rep. Ken Buck, of Colorado, voted for Emmer. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer, of Oregon, voted for McCarthy. Rep. Anthony D'Esposito, of New York, voted for Zeldin. Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart, of Florida, voted for Scalise. Rep. Jake Ellzey, of Texas, voted for Garcia. Rep. Andrew Garbarino, of New York, was the second to vote for Zeldin. Rep. Carlos Giménez, of Florida, voted for McCarthy. Rep. Tony Gonzales, of Texas, voted for Scalise. Rep. Kay Granger, of Texas, voted for Scalise. Rep. John James, of Michigan, voted for Cole. Rep. Mike Kelly, of Pennsylvania, voted for Scalise. Rep. Jennifer Kiggans, of Virginia, voted for McCarthy. Rep. Nick LaLota, of New York, voted for Zeldin Rep. Doug LaMalfa, of California, voted for McCarthy. Rep. Michael Lawler, of New York, voted for McCarthy. Rep. John Rutherford, of Florida, voted for Scalise. Rep. Michael Simpson, of Idaho, voted for Scalise. Rep.Victoria Spartz, of Indiana, voted for Massie. Rep. Steve Womack, of Arkansas, voted for Scalise. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, of Florida was absent from the vote.
Traitors
Politics is like sausage. If you enjoy either one, it’s best that you not see it being made......................
Exactly
These rinos need to rot in hell:
Bacon (NE)
Buck (CO)
Chavez-Deremer (OR)
D’Esposito (NY)
Diaz-Balart (FL)
Ellzey (TX)
Garbarino (NY)
Gimenez (FL)
Gonzales (TX)
Granger (TX)
James (MI)
Kelly (PA)
Kiggans (VA)
LaLota (NY)
Lamafla (CA)
Lawler (NY)
Rutherford (FL)
Simpson (ID)
Spartz (IN)
Womack (AR)
And the republicrat circular firing squad will now reload for their next efforts at demonstrating their incompetence.
4 from NY, figures.
Primary them all, the Lord knows those that are his own.
The GOP circle-jerk is unbroken...
There can be little doubt, IMHO, that we will see the Communist Party of Nancy Pelousy back in control of the House after next year’s swindle...
Good ole Victoria Spartz is putting Ukraine first.
She should have never been elected to run in America.
Go to hell Vickie. Hell with Ukraine too.
Word.
So if Jeffries has a ceiling of 212 votes, then Jordan only needs to pick up 13 more Republican votes in the next round, or convince some Dems to vote present. Bilirakis is a safe vote for Jordan when he returns, so that means only 12 more Repbulcan votes are needed for Jordan to become the next Speaker of the House.
asshats.
true, traitors all
So Scalise voted for Jordan.
And so did McCarthy.
Sounds as if this will be buttoned up soon...
Lot of traitors in the Repubs. Like Gaetz and the other 7 cucks who bent over and helped the Dems vote out a Republican Speaker.
John James - isn’t he the black guy who claimed to be MAGA?
This is DISGUSTING!
Traitorous babies! They would rather have Jeffries (spit!) than Jordan. Wasting their votes on people who couldn’t possibly win. They should be ashamed, but they have no shame!
Shock of all shocks for me is that my congressman Brian Fitzpatrick actually voted for Jim Jordan. The guy had a sane moment.
