LONG BEACH, Calif. - A woman is dead and several others injured after a driver allegedly intentionally drove his vehicle into pedestrians in a Long Beach crosswalk Saturday night.
It happened around 6:34 p.m. in the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Aquarium Way.
According to authorities, 46-year-old Khalid Yagobbi has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of 60-year-old Romelia Cuarenta Aguilar, who died at the scene.
Police say Yagobbi was speeding eastbound in a white Chevrolet Bolt, in the westbound lanes of Shoreline Drive, when he drove through a red light and struck the pedestrians and multiple, occupied vehicles without slowing down.
Witnesses said the car struck Aguilar as she pushed a child in a stroller in the crosswalk and then slammed into multiple vehicles in the opposite lane.
Yagobbi, who remained at the scene, was taken to a hospital for treatment then jailed on suspicion of murder.
His bail was set at $2 million.
Additional victims were taken to the hospital, with one person in critical condition, authorities said.
"At this time, there is no indication that this incident was an act of terror nor associated with the current violence in Israel; however, the investigation is ongoing," the LBPD said.

No. It was “suspicion”—not “suspension”— of murder.
I was a block away just leaving a restaurant when this happened. I didn’t hear the accident but walked over about 10 minutes after it happened I heard the sirens and saw the flashing lights from police and EMS vehicles.
Based upon my conversation with a bystander that witnessed the entire incident (he was waiting for his daughter on the corner and the perp T-boned her car as she was turning into the parking lot) and viewing a video he made immediately after the incident and before the police and fire department arrived. His video clearly shows two women laying in the street with their heads covered by bystanders with coats and jackets with massive amounts of blood seeping through from head trauma. The bystanders believed they were both dead due to no vital signs. But apparently one of them survived, but that would have been miraculous if she did. I won’t go into details but the damage was horrific to the vehicles involved and the two women laying in the street.
As far as the perp, the cops and EMTs had him surrounded and separated from the victims and growing crowd of spectators. I think that was to avoid having somebody beat him to death with their bare hands. He was the last person involved in the accident to be loaded into an ambulance and taken away. Don’t know why they put him on a stretcher because he seemed fine sitting on the curb talking with the cops. No visible injuries and no complaining about any injuries either. He was just sitting there talking with an indignant air about the situation.
I also noticed that before he was removed from the scene that at least two different cops give him a breathalyzer test as well as the EMTs take his vitals at three separate times.
I can only guess that due to witness statements and all the traffic and security cameras that recorded it, they have an airtight case against him. Lots and lots of cameras down there on Ocean Drive. It’s the hub of tourist activity in Long Beach. And that particular stretch of Ocean Blvd is part of the racing course for the Long Beach Grand Prix.
Terrible and tragic scene. I was already bothered thinking the cause was drunk driving, but now I’m furious that they suspect it was deliberate.
And yet, now the leftists want us to import a million more of these crazed monsters from Gaza.
It makes my blood boil.

That was my thinking, but according to the article, they believe it was deliberate and not alcohol related. The perp is a muzzie. He has been charged with murder. Bail is set at $2 million.

Why would Khalid do something like this? Nothing but white rage really explains it. I think I have found the connection. This happened in Long Beach, right? Donald Trump lives near a beach. Are you picking up what I’m putting down? I think that the connection is pretty obvious and that Jack Smith is going to be all over this pretty soon. Remember, you heard it here first.
For what it’s worth, the Eff Bee Eye warned about terror incidents.
