This evidently happened in north Texas, and not near the border. So I’m not sure of my guess. But maybe the balloon drifted over a cartel operation. Those guys don’t particularly like sightseers.

This appears to have been outside of Crandall, which is southeast of Dallas. Not a bad area unless you drift a little closer to the urban squalor. Little Guadalajara awaits you followed by Little Zaire.
