The Israelis need a very large explosion in Gaza in an area that has been mostly cleared up. Destructively large. Let’s see if they’ll stick around then. They might. They’re choices are being blown up by the Israelis, which may or may not happen, or be killed by Hamas, which they’ve witnessed up close and personal for decades.
There’s the CNN effect, where when actions begin, Hamas and their apologists will say, look, Israel is guilty of war crimes and all of that. They want their own people to be killed so they can go on CNN and accuse Israel of crimes against humanity.
To be fair, they have nowhere to go. None of their neighbors want them.
Oh well... Elections have consequences and the Palestinians freely and democratically elected Hamas to rule over them.

I heard Blinken say that Hamas is blocking the roads south. UN calls for a humanitarian corridor but who should open it? Israeli media says Hamas is telling people not to fall for “zionist psychological warfare” and to stay at home. Gaza media says they expect Israel to bomb their main hospital (which, if they do, they must have serious intel that it is used by Hamas for weapons or headquarters). Israel has been dropping leaflets saying “do not stay here, go south, and do not stay next to Hamas operatives and do not let Hamas use you as human shields”.
It’s a mess. I can see Israel giving some time, maybe a few hours or half a day - then start some light shelling etc to impress upon the citizens that this is not psychological war but real war. Then one final warning that what you just saw was only the start. Israel has given them every opportunity. Hamas has to open the roads and assist the evacuations. They are the rulers of Gaza it’s their decision to either escape the area or force their citizens to sit in the crossfire.
