Back in the early 90's, they used to test the GBU's during the middle of the night at the Eglin Air Force test range - which our back yard fence abutted.
Those were loud, but somehow comforting, sounds off in the distance.

I have recently read an article on the munitions Israel is using. As others have already suggested, Israel is using ground penetrating bombs, referred to as 'bunker busting' bombs.
The delayed fuse allows the reinforced bomb to penetrate the building and the building's foundation. This weapon is not used just to destroy a building. It is used to destroy what is beneath the building.

Maybe a
SPICE guided bomb? The
video at 41s, the profile resembles the Spice 200. That maybe because of the angle. If the wings were side on to the camera they would be invisible. I thought a GBU-27/8 would make a bigger explosion. A smaller bomb means less collateral damage. That is part of what the IDF strives for and rarely gets credit.
