And you think USA should go deeper in national debt to protect Ukraine’s borders while our are wide open?

Do you have any idea how much US Treasury will pay out in interest on national debt in fiscal 2024?

"And you think USA should go deeper in national debt to protect Ukraine’s borders [...]"

Supporting Ukraine does not necessarily require going deeper into debt.

If the Russians had never invaded Ukraine, we would probably be just as deep in debt, having instead spent the "saved" money for other, useless or even counterproductive purposes.

The argument you are making could always be made for ANY positive, noble, or useful purpose: "But we are in debt!"

"While our[s] are wide open?"

Demand for Perfection Fallacy! There will namely ALWAYS be some other issue that likewise needs attention, or is being willfully ignored. An unguarded southern border. World Hunger. Etc. That doesn't change the fact that THIS issue needs (also) to be addressed.

If you could GUARANTEE that a cessation of all aid to Ukraine would AUTOMATICALLY stop all illegal aliens streaming across our southern border, maybe you and I could discuss a compromise. But that is NOT the case: Ceasing aid to Ukraine would do NOTHING to stem the tide of illegals. If we had never come to Ukraine's aid, we'd still be as deeply in debt, and our southern border would still be just as porose.

Sorry, but your argumentation is logically very flawed!

Do you have any idea how much US Treasury will pay out in interest on national debt in fiscal 2024?

My solution: Stop all welfare payments! Deport all illegals!

Every dollar spent helping Ukraine is TEN TIMES as effective in protecting America as another dollar spent in the Defense Budget.

Regards,
