Unless there is other evidence against him, I’d have to consider the possibility she stole the money by herself, and vote not guilty.

I don’t think either is bright enough to engineer such a theft. They were little more than puppets, with their puppet masters getting away with it.

Guilty - pretty obvious when you see her picture.

The hybris is unbelievable. Per NYT:

“She said Mr. Bankman-Fried was “very ambitious,” telling her that he wanted his companies to be successful and that there was “a 5 percent chance” that he would become president of the United States.

He had an unusual approach to risk, she added. At one point, she testified, Mr. Bankman-Fried said he would happily perform a coin flip if heads meant the world would become “twice as good,” even if tails meant the world would be destroyed.”

But she knew what he was asking her to do was criminal. She has no excuse that absolves her participation.

Why am I thinking about the Karla Homolka Paul Bernardo murder and trial

Young girl swept off the street, held as a sex slave before being murdered

The “wife” Karla, was given immunity and a deal by the gubmint. Paul, the “husband” was crucified.

Well, seems nobody found the tapes Paul stashed in the house.
Tapes proved Karla was the evil monster. Paul was trapped cause he did not want to be exposed as someone with a sex addiction.

Jamie Cameron, professor of law at Osgoode Hall, noted that “at the time of the Homolka trial, three features of the case worried and concerned the public. Little was known about the respective roles Homolka and Bernardo played in their actions and the killing of their victims. By spring, 1993, it was clear that the Crown’s case against Bernardo depended on Homolka’s evidence. In simple terms, to secure a conviction against him, her story had to be believed. Yet on no view of the facts then known could she be exculpated; by casting her as a victim of his predatory behaviour, her responsibility for the crimes that were committed could be diminished and her credibility as a witness preserved.

Murray said the videotapes showed Homolka sexually assaulting four female victims, having sex with a female prostitute in Atlantic City, and at another point, drugging an unconscious victim.[25] In February 1994, Homolka divorced Bernardo.[27]

The revelation that a key piece of evidence had been kept from police for so long created a furor, especially when the public realized that Homolka had been Bernardo’s willing accomplice. The tapes were not allowed to be shown to the spectators; only the audio portion was available to them. Moreover, Bernardo has always claimed that, while he raped and tortured Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French, Homolka actually killed them

Re: "She has no excuse that absolves her participation."

Caroline Ellison is the trademark product of a DOJ prosecution.

DOJ spends months interrogating and investigating second and third tier participants, threatening each one with a blizzard of criminal charges, and always implying that someone else is testifying against you in exchange for a lighter sentence.

DOJ has unlimited funding and personnel.

Their criminal targets do not.

DOJ resolves almost 100% of its complex prosecutions with a plea deal.

By the way, I think it was Fox News that reported today that Bankman-Fried donated $10 million to Biden and $100 million to various Democrats and RINOs.

That might make Bankman eligible for a Presidential commutation of sentence.

His late middle aged parents might be eligible for full pardons.

While what you said was true. She still knew she was committing a crime.
