During the Ottoman Empire Jerusalem was an afterthought. After WWI and the fall of the Ottomans Abdel Raouf al-Qudwa al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem {Yasser Arafat’s father}, ran to Adolph Hitler and began to organize an anti-Zionist movement. He hoped to head off the movement to make a state of Israel in Palestine.

Hitler and Mufti dude discussed the “The Jewish problem” and Hitler was in favor of sending all the Jews to the Middle East. Mufti suggested just killing them all.
Well, I guess Hitler and the Grand Mufti never knew Helen Thomas. She wanted to send all the Jews back to Germany——where, she claimed, they had come from. The list of dunderheads we’ve been surrounded by goes back eons.

Interesting. I would love a source for that!
:^D That must have sent al-Husseini's bowels into orbit! He wanted to rid Palestine of all Jews - forever.
It is a long, long, long standing spiritual battle that is finally heading towards resolution. When the patriarch, Abraham, sent Hagar and her son Ishmael out of the camp (by one interpretation Ishmael was the first born, the rightful heir) a spiritual battle was founded that has grown over the centuries.
One of the last time the Ishmaelites and the Jacobites came together in fellowship was at Abraham's funeral.
We are in a great spiritual battle today; the above conflict is a big part of that strife. The prize would seem to be Jerusalem, but intervening events have thrust America into the mix - the light on a hill.
Do you have a source for this please?
