I liked it, too, and joined the party and voted for PP as well.
But I don’t trust them. Too many “red Tories” still around. I was a Reform guy, very active and even worked in the national office for a while. That’s where I witnessed hangers on arriving to advance their car rather than the country, and at least one of them is still there, though in Ottawa now.
I’m in a safe Conservative riding and if Bernier and the PPC has a candidate I’m going to vote for him/her/it as a message to the CPC. The riding is safe enough that it won’t matter and if it does, well, Michelle Rempel Garner has been a CINO/Globalist disappointment.
Good man, gymbeau, but don’t give up on Pierre yet. Other Conservatives have fooled us enough that we absolutely should be wary, but Poilievre feels different to me. He sounds more sincere rather than practiced. Truth rolls off the tongue easily and doesn’t require much thought, while platitudes and pandering need careful thought to be tailored to the audience, or they just sound like what they are - platitudes and pandering.
Poilievre is much younger than Trump so he doesn’t have his life or media experience, but it sounds to me like he’s speaking the truth like PDJT does. Canadians are still heavily influenced by our media, so Poilievre has to be careful not to sound too much like Trump, since Canadians have been brainwashed to believe Trump is bad. He’s walking a fine line and seems to be doing it well. Turdeau is so disliked that the next election appears to be Poilievre’s to lose as long as he doesn’t say or do anything that the Turdeau media can blow out of proportion. It remains to be seen whether or not he’s just a more authentic-sounding slick and slimy.
