I think the kid’s parents were probably told their kid was hyperactive, they put him on mind altering drugs, which has altered his mind, there is blame to go around here, if I’m correct, starting with the counselors that told the parents their kid has issues, the parents and doctors automatically going to drugs to cure a situation where changing his diet, getting outside and exercising and some stern disciple probably would have solved the issue.

Send him home with his family. Let them see how it would be best to restrain him from injuring himself of another sutdent.

I’m so glad I retired from teaching.
Regarding the video where the kid was in the mailroom those adults in the room are the largest part of the problem.

They let him do as he pleased and LET him act out. This is a reflection of those in that room and THEIR skills in handling a out of control kid - they did nothing.

They could have intervened but they did not ( most likely afraid of being sued by litigious parents) but teachers are allowed control while on duty.

Th temper tantrum this kid was having was triggered by something & I don’t know what but its very obvious he can and does act out like this at home & in other public spaces. its quite clear he has been behaviorally INDULGED on & off campus.
His behavior started at home, too.

He may have learning disabilities.
Its quite obvious he is unable to
correctly process what is going on inside of him & this calls for a child shrink and play therapy because he most like doesn’t have dropped he vocabulary to express what is going on inside of him.

A large part of his problem began at home with no obvious boundaries and Mommy & Daddy are fed up to the gills with his behavior, too, but appease him with Playstation time or his favorite movies, etc..but these types of rewards do not change his behavior because he cycles in and out of all this similarly to the Cycle of Abuse (if someone could post a pic of that I would be grateful, it would help in understanding.)

When I was teaching in high school there were kids with emotional disabilities in a totally sep section of the school. These were the kids where their behavior issues were not addressed early on...so they wind up in high school...

This PUBLIC high school was one of a number of them in a very highly regarded state and county . The $$$ and geographic profile there was bar none the very best of the best in the mid-atlantic states and received many accolades nationwide.
So it does go to show that this behavior crosses all boundaries; wealthy or impoverished.

Bottom line is this: it all starts at home and thats the genesis of this kids problem...
