You are full of BS. Ukraine is not in our national security interest, never was, and likely won’t be. Sucking up our money and resources to fight a proxy war with Russia, the Ukraine and Russia Civil War, is a waste. The Palestinian Hamas pogrom in the Middle East is our concern. Americans are dying, being raped, and taken hostage at the hands of these barbarian Islamists. It is my opinion that we should declare war on Hamas and kill every last one of them. As for Taiwan, the power of our commerce will hold China at bay, plus our nearby, Navy. The only requirement we need is the willingness to cut off all commerce from China, that will quickly shut them down. Make clear they risk that and they will not attack.

gleeaikin: "If you think Russia/Putin attack on Ukraine is of no importance to US, then you are seriously lacking in imagination.
Failure of us to support Ukraine will immediately signal to China they can move forward on Taiwan attack "

It takes no imagination, only basic history to understand the first law of international relations: weakness provokes aggression from bad actors, and only strength can bring peace.

The natural historical condition of mankind is war and slavery of weaker people by brutal oppressors.
Peace, prosperity and justice only prevail when good people ally together to oppose aggressive brutal dictators.
Those are lessons taught at great cost in the 20th century.

Vlad the Invader, the CCP's Xi-snake, Little Kim and the Moola Mullahs are all brutal aggressive dictators, who will take whatever they can get whenever their neighbors show weakness -- military, economic, political and or social.

Today we look weak and divided, with lunatics for leaders and our enemies clearly see that now is the time to attack us at our weakest points, such as Ukraine, Israel or Taiwan.

Their aggressions will never end until we become strong again and force them to back down, or defeat them.

Those are lessons of all history and immutable laws of human nature -- when you act like an idiot, some evil power will kill you and take over whatever you have.

It's why we have Democrats in charge of our country today and brutal dictators on the march globally.

For over 75 years Israelis have proven themselves capable of dealing with their enemies, so long as we help them militarily and don't hamstring them diplomatically.

The CCP's Xi-snake is in power today largely on his promises to the Communist party to end Taiwan's independence, eventually.
At some point, Xi must put up or shut up and lose his position.
So his greatest task is to pick the exact moment when the US and our allies seem weakest and the CCP is most ready for war.
So long as he thinks we are too strong -- militarily, economically, politically & socially -- the Xi-snake will stay put.
But like any snake, his tongue can smell fear and disunion and chaos amongst his enemies.

Sadly, we are showing way to much of that these days.
