POWER GENERATION
A hydroelectric unit at one of the hydroelectric power plants with a capacity of over 300 MW has come out of scheduled maintenance.
The electricity generated by Ukrainian power plants is sufficient to meet the needs of consumers. Power engineers continue to prepare the power system for the heating season, which will take place in the face of russian attacks. A large-scale repair campaign is underway at thermal, hydro and nuclear generation facilities.
CONSEQUENCES OF BAD WEATHER
Due to adverse weather conditions, 252 settlements in Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv regions were cut off from electricity.
Most of them are in the Kyiv region, with 15,300 customers left without power.
SITUATION IN THE FRONTLINE REGIONS
In Donetsk region, 42 settlements lost power due to shelling. Some consumers in Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions also have no electricity supply.
In total, power companies reconnected 43,000 consumers over the day. Most of them are customers in Donetsk region.
CONSEQUENCES OF THE KAKHOVKA HPP DAM BLOW-UP
In Kherson, efforts are underway to restore power grids damaged by the flood. Almost 300 power access points have been reconnected, while 1,700 customers in the city remain without power. Power engineers are working to restore power supply, but repairs are slowed down by shelling.
SITUATION IN THE REGIONS
6 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region were temporarily cut off from electricity supply due to technological disruptions.
SITUATION AT THE ZNPP
There is a slight decrease in the water level in the ZNPP cooling pond. It is currently at 15.76 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
EXPORT/IMPORT
There were no commercial imports of electricity over the past day. Exports to Slovakia and Moldova totalled 1,964.00 MWh.

Based on reports from RUSSIAN STATE-OWNED news sources, social media users claimed as many as 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers opted to surrender to Russia in early October 2023 via a “special radio frequency.” There is NO EVIDENCE that is true.
In early October 2023, a rumor was circulated online that Ukraine was surrendering to Russia. “Special radio frequency being used so that Ukrainian soldiers can safely surrender to Russian forces,” one X (formerly Twitter) user claimed. “Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are opting to surrender to the Russian Army. These surrenders were seen even through a newly established Russian radio frequency,” the comment continued. Moreover, the in-question post on X had a photograph attached, allegedly depicting Ukrainian soldiers in an act of surrender.

1. The source of the photo visible in the viral post. TinEye’s reverse-image search results showed that it had circulated online since at least April 2022. For instance, Reuters reported that on April 13, 2022, “Russian state TV released what it said was footage of Ukrainian soldiers surrendering in the city of Mariupol.” However, Reuters was NOT ABLE to verify the authenticity of the video.
2. No media outlets confirmed any of the above-mentioned claims about Ukraine surrendering to Russia and thousands of Ukrainian soldiers laying down arms.
3. An article published on SEPT. 27, 2023, by RT, a RUSSIAN STATE-CONTROLLED international news television network:
- More than 10,000 of Kiev’s forces have reportedly laid down arms in recent weeks, using a special radio channel to contact the Russian military
- large numbers of Ukrainian troops have surrendered to the Russian military in recent weeks, using a special radio frequency designed for fighters willing to lay down arms, TASS reported on Wednesday.
- The frequency, 149.200 call sign ‘Volga’, was set up by the Russian military during the summer. Thus far, it has been used by more than 10,000 Ukrainian servicemen who were subsequently taken into Russian custody, according to a source with knowledge of the situation cited by TASS. The person added that the radio frequency is active along the entire front line.
- “More than 10,0000 Ukrainian soldiers have chosen life and used the 149.200 ‘Volga’ frequency to surrender. The prisoners are well-fed and are provided with all the necessary medical care,” the source stated.
The RT article stemmed from another article published by THE RUSSIAN NEWS AGENCY TASS, that claimed to have obtained all the above information from “operational services”
Russian-owned websites such as Sputnik, copy-pasted the in-question information online and spread pro-Russian propaganda “to prevent pointless bloodshed among by Ukrainian soldiers.”
It is MOST LIKELY ‘the rumor’ about Ukraine surrendering to Russia in 2023 was deliberately spread by Russian officials and another example of Russian disinformation efforts.
I would presume if their were such a radio channel that it could be blocked with available technology that the Ukrainian Army should certainly know all about.

Russian news has been running this claim of an on since April of 2022. They have produced nothing to back it up. RT and TASS cite each other, going back to Russian military sources. When RT and TASS report it, they say reportedly. When others pick it up, like Hindustan Times (HT), they treat the maybe as a certainty. In the case of HT, then have run lots of stories like this a month after they are first reported, making it hard to check them.
The Hindustan Times loves to take stories RT, TASS, other Russian state news has publish a month ago, embellish them, and treat them as if they are new news. HT has the mindset that they don't care who wins between Ukraine or Russia, as long as the US and Western Europe lose.

I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred ninety third day of the war.
Day 593: Oct 09
Today, there is a lot of good news from the Donetsk region.
Here, Russian forces conducted yet another attack on Novomykhailivka. As you can see, the settlement is located in a shallow salient, allowing Russians to attack it from 3 directions.
It is important to note, however, that Ukrainians have been holding this settlement since the beginning of the war, and based on some unconfirmed reports, the main reason why this small village is such a powerful stronghold lies in the fact that Ukrainians have an extensive system of bunkers and underground tunnels for supplies. Moreover, the fields around the settlement have been densely mined for more than a year. Nonetheless, Russian forces still think that they can override these hurdles by leveraging the territories under their control.
Two weeks ago, Russian forces tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses by attacking them from the north with kamikaze tanks but quickly got stuck in the minefields and destroyed. That is why, today, Russian forces tried to attack Novomykhailivka from the south.
Geolocated footage suggests that Russians decided to advance along the gully between Slavne and Stepne and then attack right along the tree line. The assault unit consisted of at least 3 tanks, 3 armored fighting vehicles, and 50 soldiers. Interestingly, the tracks of the first tank were burning, suggesting that Russians ignited the field on purpose.
The camera did not catch the exact moment, so it is hard to make definitive conclusions about that, but one of the purposes of this trick could be to reveal the mines. Ukrainians, for example, utilize this tactic very often as Russians do not dig them in.
The reconnaissance drone operators from the 79 Assault Brigade detected the assault group when it just departed, which is why when the Ukrainian artillery crews received the coordinates and opened fire, Russian forces barely reached the contact line. The first Russian tank was destroyed when Russians advanced by 200 meters into the grey zone. For context, in order to reach Novomykhailivka, Russians needed to cross 3 200 meters.
After immobilizing the first-in-line vehicle, the assault unit got stuck, and the first batch of Russian soldiers started running away from the front. Ukrainian forces expected such a result, which is why the moment the drone operator communicated to the artillery crews that the vehicle was immobilized, they switched to cluster shells. Soon, the tank was completely destroyed by a direct hit of an artillery shell or an ATGM.
Nonetheless, the armored fighting vehicles behind the tank tried to move around it through the field and continue the mission. Unfortunately for Russians, they got on a mine. Shortly, another tank that was providing fire support from a distance was hit. Finally, the remaining tank and 2 armored fighting vehicles were damaged, and the crew was seen fleeing the site.
Interestingly, Russian forces did not use demining equipment in this attack. They used it the last time to ensure a safe passage for a kamikaze tank, but not for the soldiers. And this is not a coincidence because Ukrainian reconnaissance teams tracked down the demining equipment that Russians used and found out where it was hidden. As a result, several days prior to this suicidal assault, the Ukrainian HIMARS crew conducted a precision strike and destroyed 2 demining systems.
Moreover, Ukrainian fighters from this region report that Russians use a lot of prisoners from Storm-Z detachments in this region, which is why some analysts concluded that the Russian command did not want to adjust the schedule of assaults after the loss of de-mining equipment and ordered to attack without sufficient support and preparation. Such an approach led to the complete destruction of the Russian assault unit, including 3 tanks and 3 armored fighting vehicles.

The catch is, when people catch on to this, the friendly channels are recognized as spreading Russian propaganda.

Since Putin/Russia has quite likely been assisting Iran with plans against Israel, helping Ukraine and Israel should be considered part of a package deal. Certainly Putin is crowing into his vodka to see the suffering Hamas has inflicted on unarmed Israelis, which is identical to the suffering he has inflicted on unarmed men, women, and children in areas his troops have conquered. Thus has has been discovered once these areas were liberated by the Ukraine Aemy—rape, torture and murder.
Both wars are linked, just like the European and Pacific Wars during World War II. Putin has his fingerprints all over the Hamas attacks.
