Incredible isn’t it? People who still live in the same town they went to high school in and know jack squat about the world outside their tiny corner of the Earth. Travel is fatal to prejudice and it seems there’s lots of it on this thread. I just got to visit my 51st country. plus all 50 US States.
And it might be a little dicey right now, given its proximity to Saudi, southern Iran, etc.

That is not actually the case. The concern is that the certification and testing documentation has been found to be faked in some cases. The actual part may or may not be sub-standard. Independent testing will determine the suitability of the parts in question.
That is a huge concern for engine and plane control parts but is only a minor issue for cabin components like seats, trays, light bulbs, etc.

Ha. yes exactly. Most of the people there are not Emiratis. The servers in the hotel restaurant we stayed at are all Uzbeks, and the other lobby staff are mostly Filipinos. Higher status jobs like Engineers and many Drs and most of the Emirates Airline Pilots are American, British, German, Canadian, Aussie, Kiwis, etc...all the grunt workers are Indian and Bangladeshi, and south Asian people.
Honolulu is a great place. Go East young man.
Tell them DO NOT GO. Do not go to any Muslim country EVER.
When push comes to shove only the wishes of the dominate male mohammedan matter in a mohammedan run country.
So. If you are in Dubai and the dominate male mohammedan decides he wants to bathe in your guts, that is what will happen.
Chance of it happening, low. But not zero. And higher then it was a week ago.

I love flying on Emirates. Definitely a cut above most of the rest.
