Is this like a Wierd Al-style parody of another song, or did they just decide to write a Heavy Metal song over something absurdly silly?

Why did the Italians write a song about a soccer match they lost 30 years ago? Winners write songs about glorious battles fought, not the losers.
It’s a parody band of Manowar (very big in Europe), but this is an original song about an important penalty, that Italy missed in 1994.
