I’ve known a few Amish builders. They have the best trucks and tools. The Amish wear black pants and straw hats. One guy on the crew wears a Nirvan t-shirt. He’s the driver.

In addition, the plain clothing is a guardrail, as part of the general practice to not be led toward temptations that would fuel power, pride, and wandering away from Jesus.

I live close to a ton of them. They had cell phones before I did.
Different sects have different beliefs.
Some are allowed to use electricity but only what they need so not direct on power grid, because power is 24/7 and don’t use it. But do have generators to run large machinery erc.
Some can ride in cars but not own or drive them.
And some are more strict about tech.
