Unless she makes a me-too movie about an ape that gropes her, what's the point?

I thought she retired—or died—years ago.
True, that Marlowe flick was dull, but it was watchable and inoffensive.

She seems delusional.
For artistic value and talent, a top Broadway show is the pinnacle of the acting world. That’s because it’s a heck of a lot more difficult to do a live stage act than film a movie with multiple takes, film editing, etc.
But the movie industry is much more lucrative than live theater. That’s because there no way to do a mass distribution and simultaneous performances of a Broadway show.
This is why many talented actors migrate to Broadway almost as a hobby — AFTER they’ve made a fortune in movies.

"She is 74 years old and worth 20 million." Not bad. But I'd prefer to be 20 years old and worth 74 million.

Because nothing says “art” like a reboot of a 40-year-old movie about a giant ape and a blonde bimbo...

You’ve given me an idea...not that I will do anything about it...
With today’s technology there is no way a live Broadway show couldn’t be broadcast to a theater anywhere. They do this for sporting events, opera....
The other idea is to have different theater companies in all metropolitan population areas > 100,000 population do the show. Same songs, same lines. If the show is getting good reviews it could be an attraction to many...the movies are so bad...it could happen..

There are lots of indy films out there. The film festivals would dry up and blow away without them. And there is a stable of ‘A’ and ‘B’-list SAG actors that prefer to do those kinds of films, because actors are given lots of leeway, even doing improv and scenes the way they want, not what some green director wants them to do.
The indy producers love them as well, because not only will their names bring in backers, but will boost their box office. And give them cred with the critics.
