I don’t know how it is these days, but when I was involved in girls scouts about 15 years ago, the local troop maybe 25% or less of the sale price.
Most of the profit went to the national organization which is a bunch of left wing dykes unfortunately.
You are better off giving the girlscouts cash donations than buying the cookies, the cash stays in the troop... which most troops are run by caring everyday moms...
The organization as a whole, sadly is run by some really really whacky leftists and dykes.
National GSUSA makes money from the branding.
Not from the cookie sales.
For a box of cookies, about half goes to the bakers, about 25% goes to local Council that runs camps and programs, a bit less than 20% to the selling troop / mine earns $.85 per $5 box sold.
Nothing goes direct to National.
This info is available at the selling table.
I was a ‘Rangerette’ which was the girl scout-type organization of the Lutheran church. the boys (Ick!) were ‘Rangers.’ ;)
Not sure if they’re still around, but our mission was more spreading ‘The Word’ and community projects, not just raising money for ourselves.
