Had a buddy I went to grade school up through high school with and we remained close after. He had a son. The son graduated from high school and the grand parents had a little party for their grandson. Since he was heading off to college after the summer, Grandma gave him a study set with a calendar pad, desk lamp and trash can.
Being the crafty little gal she was, Grandma found my buddy’s box of old baseball cards (late ‘60s to early ‘70s Topps) in the attic and she decoupaged them to the lamp and trash can and up both sides of the calendar.
After the shock wore off, my buddy took it in stride, did a little research in the latest Beckett Baseball Card Guide and lamented that his son was the proud owner of a $4000 lamp and garbage can. 🤣
