The lack of empathy here on FR is disturbing.

Surely these two kids only got into that car because they thought their 16 year-old friend had just started his new job as an Uber driver. :-P

This thread does have some rather heartless comments. Young lives being cut short is not amusing. Sad that these are the times we live in now...

“The lack of empathy here on FR is disturbing.”

We’re out of empathy. Mocking is more useful.

I have had all I can take. You still have some taking to do?

I know this comment is satirical but it is profound in the sense that it describes the current mood about black crime. Liberals excuse the criminal behavior of blacks by blaming the racist justice system to end mass incarceration. We all know that blacks are taking advantage of the soft on crime policies that prevents them from being punished with incarceration. Not long ago people drew significant sentences for stealing a car. Tragedies like this are due to the permissiveness.

People cannot constantly become emotionally invested in the deaths of someone they don’t even know when it’s the result of stupid criminal behavior.

The emotional toll of getting worked up over those kinds of deaths of a total stranger is not worth it. Sometimes there are consequences to foolish decision and behavior. This is one of them.

***The lack of empathy here on FR is disturbing. ***

The supply of empathy has been exhausted for years.

In 1965 NYC blackout there was no looting or problems.
In 1977 NYC Blackout there was massive looting by black residents.
Now looting is so common people no longer have to guess about the race of the looters.
