A massive alligator was caught Friday carrying the lifeless body of a Floridian down a canal.
A witness first spotted the 14-foot reptile with its victim clenched between its jaws on a residential street in Largo, a small community just four miles south of Clearwater.
“I could tell there was a body in his mouth, so I started recording,” witness JaMarcus Bullard told Spectrum Bay News 9.
Bullard, who was on his way to a job interview, alerted the Largo Fire Department, which was stationed just steps away from the gory scene.
Emergency personnel quickly pulled the gator from the water and shot it “a few times,” Bullard said.
“A lot of my neighbors were out here and they’re the ones that told me about the gator,” area resident Jennifer Dean told the outlet.

Does that include building where they have lived for hundreds of years?🤔
Was it a Tennessee fan?
- am in my nineties now, but my Dad was military and had several tours of duty in south Florida in thirties and forties. I don’t recall them in the numbers as they are now. Our Boy Scout troop hiked along the canals and camped but never saw them. Plenty of rattle snakes and skeeters. We swam in the canals.
It’s time to remove their protections.
I grew up in South Florida.
(1952)
There was only the glades west of my home too back then.
Use to go with an uncle on an airboat hunting wild boar and gator in those glades.
Believe me, there were more gators back then, a lot more.
It’s just that we have intruded into their territory and took over thousands of acres that they use to roam.
Another thing .. anyone that tells you that gator taste good has never really eaten it or is lying to you!🥴
Taste like the swampy murky waters they come from!
One other option about that taste thing .. if you completely cover the gator meat with the right sauce, it can be somewhat acceptable!😁
Maybe my eyes are playing tricks with me, but that gator does not look to be 14 ft long or the person standing beside it is 10 ft tall. I’ve seen several that were 12 ft and they looked huge.
never tried to eat gater meat, rattle snake - yes. Of course, over a camp fire everything is good.
😁😁😁😁
