The vaccine only contains mRNA for the spike protein. It does not contain mRNA for the other 28 virus proteins. Since all 29 mRNAs are needed in order to make new viruses, the vaccine cannot cause an infection.
A virus is a sack of RNA that enters cells and uses the RNA to force them to make new proteins and RNA which are then packaged into new viruses. The new viruses burst out of the infected cells, killing them, and infect more cells. Those newly infected cells can be anywhere in the body. The newly infected cells are forced to make new viruses, which then cause the cells to burst and release all the new viruses. This process repeats itself over and over. Until your immune system finally starts making antibodies about two weeks later, the cycle repeats itself over and over. By the time your immune system kicks into action and makes antibodies, your body is full of virus mRNA. And those might not even be protective antibodies; some people who catch Covid never make antibodies because Covid damages the immune system. Oh, yeah—the damage caused by the viruses killing all of the infected cells is as physical and real as a bruise or a cut.
The purpose of the vaccine is to teach your immune system how to make protective antibodies BEFORE you are exposed to viruses.
