Riveting movie ( not a typical Film Noir at all though ), with all kinds of psychological terror and an outstanding cast.

    Yes it is!
And as good as SUSPICION is, this one is MUCH better and creepier. The "theme song" really adds a lot to it all.

"Nice shots of old Santa Rosa." Yes, beautiful. I can't imagine what it's like today.

I know this isn’t about the movie, but when I heard the title, I couldn’t help but think of this great song.

The Santa Rosa house depicted in the film, and the street it sits on, are largely unchanged today.

"The Santa Rosa house depicted in the film, and the street it sits on, are largely unchanged today." That's a comfort. I'm pretty sure the wholesome Santa Rosa downtown area depicted is long gone.

Happy memories of Highland Games in Santa Rosa. Lovely little book shop nearby IIRC.

In a 1972 interview Hitchkock said it was his favorite among all of his films.
