You’re right, I ask you where I advocated for another Bush style candidate to win anything, I have not done anything close to that.

Advocating for the Republicans to change tactics and get smart, which both seem to be in short supply.

It makes no sense to me to keep repeating the same actions that have never been successful.

MAGA candidates can and should win elections, it’s appealing to the average working-class person.

The problem with the MAGA movement right now is how negative and angry it’s become and not open to anything other than strict adherence to a doctrine.

Is DeSantis a perfect MAGA candidate probably not, but he’s not worse than Gavin Newsom as Kari Lake has declared.

Glenn Youngkin is not a perfect MAGA candiate, but he won in Virginia which is tough, he did it primarily by adopting tough stances on public education and the elimination of the Woke Agenda in schools.

After 2024, regardless of what happens, Trump will be over as a politician, if he wins he can’t serve but 4 years, if he loses, it would be crazy to think he could run again in 2028.

We need people to grow the MAGA movement and move it forward into the future, it can’t be 100% centered on Trump because he will be gone soon.

None of this means accepting RINOs or candidates from the Bush wing the party, it does mean we can’t keep nominating fringe candiates like Herschel Walker and Dr.Oz.

I give you an example of what I’m talking about.

Montana is a usually a Red State, they have a Democratic Senator in John Tester.

He’s up for reelection in 2024, IMO, he should be toast and planning his post senatorial career.

Matt Rosendale is a very conservative congressman from Montana, he’s acting like he’s going to challenge Tester, the only problem is Rosendale ran against Tester in 2018 and lost, do we risk nominating him again or is there another candidate who can win, I’m not sure.

The same situation exists in Ohio and West Virginia, two red states with Democratic Senators who should be defeated.

It’ absolutely critical to nominate someone who can win, not somebody like Herschel Walker or Dr.Oz.

You and I are in general agreement.

The problem is the GOP as a party does not have a commonly held political philosophy. Conservatism is not an ideology. Without core principles, the party has no strength or unity.

MAGA is not a philosophy, it is a campaign slogan.

Democrats are united in supporting the notion of an all powerful central government. The government’s perception of the needs of the “community” is more important than freedom of the individual. The individual is subordinate to government.

The opposition party should be the party of individual liberty where government’s role is to preserve, protect and defend the rights and freedom of the individual. The GOP is not that party. Most GOP politicians view their role as using the tools of big government to achieve the goals of the donor base. There is no passionate commitment to protecting the rights of individual citizens. No core beliefs are needed to pass legislation benefiting large corporations and billionaires.

The only way to protect individual liberty is to limit the size and power of government. Even Trump, king of “MAGA” did nothing to reduce the size or power of the federal government. Spending and the deficit accelerated during the Trump administration, just as it did under the presidency of the establishment Republican George W. Bush.
